Villanueva agent claims Rovers bid

The agent of Chile international Carlos Villanueva says Paul Ince is keen to take his client to Blackburn after missing out on Mauro Zarate.

Villanueva's agent Cristian Otero told La Tercera's website that new Rovers boss Ince contacted him looking to sign youngster Zarate.

However, Ince instead chose the Audax Italiano midfielder after Zarate opted to join Lazio.

"I have a good relationship with Ince," said Otero. "He knew that I took Mauro Zarate (to Birmingham) six months ago and he told me he liked him, but Mauro finally signed for Lazio.

"He wanted a similar player, so I took him several videos of Villanueva, as I believe that they have a similar profile. After watching them, he decided to ask about a transfer."

Audax Italiano president Valentin Cantergiani claims an agreement has been reached with Rovers and Villanueva will join the Ewood Park club next week.

"It will be completed next week," Cantergiani said on Cooperativa radio station. "There are some details to finalise, but there is an agreement with Blackburn Rovers."

Blackburn Rovers Session 2008/2009

This new session will be the new beginning era of Paul Ince who replace Mark Hughes. After Mark Hughes 's departure , a lot of speculation present at the Ewood park. Ince seems to be struggle to keep his best player and put on his effort to looking for any good signing. Rover's chairman recently had reject an offer from Aston Villa for Bentley(12 million Pound). Bentley who had revealed his ambition to pursue his carrier with bigger clubs and he try to attract other clubs to buy him.
Paul Ince is now targeting a young chilean player Carlos Villanueva and most likely to be his first signing in this summer. A week before there also an interest from Ewood park for Red Star's midfielder, Catillo. On my own opinion, if Rovers manage to sign both player, is not too much to say that rovers have what it takes to compete for top 6 and qualify automatically for Euro cup. Well, keep yourself update for any breaking news from Ewood park.Rovers Forever!!!
